This policy explains what information Connecta collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the service.

1. Information we collect

• Account: email, username, display name, and password (stored only as a secure hash).
• Profile: bio, avatar, links, region, and interests you choose to add.
• Content: posts, comments, messages, Stories, and media you create.
• Security: sign-in events, device/browser and approximate location for your sessions.
• Optional: phone number and recovery contacts, if you add them.

2. How we use it

• To operate core features — your feed, messaging, Meet, and Stories.
• To keep your account secure and detect abuse.
• To enforce our Community Guidelines and comply with the law.
• To send you notifications and security alerts you’ve enabled.

3. What we don’t do

We don’t sell your personal information. We don’t show third-party ads based on your private messages.

4. Sharing

We share information only with service providers who help us run Connecta (e.g. hosting, email, SMS), and when required by law or to protect people’s safety. Content you post is shared according to your privacy settings.

5. Your controls

• Choose who can view your profile, message you, and send friend requests.
• Block, mute, or hide other users.
• Download your data or delete your account at any time.

6. Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete content or your account, we remove it, except for limited copies retained for backups, safety, and legal compliance.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed, sessions use short-lived tokens with rotating refresh tokens, and two-factor authentication is available. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

8. Children

Connecta isn’t directed to children under 13, and Meet is limited to adults 18 and over.
